Earlier this year a working group was set up to consider any changes in fees that might be necessary from September 2022. The working group made recommendations to the Trustees which were considered at the Trustees meeting on 21st March 2022.
The purpose of this update is to let you know that the Trustees accepted the recommendation that the annual subscription for our u3a should increase to £12 from September 2022. This increase is required to cover rising costs, in particular the increase in the individual levy paid annually to the Third Age Trust.
Normally changes to the annual subscription are agreed at an AGM. However our next AGM isn’t until February 2023, which is much too late to change the annual subscription for September this year. Therefore there will be a single item Extraordinary General Meeting before our Members meeting at 9:45am on 9th May 2022, at which we will confirm the result of the vote on the proposal to increase the annual subscription to £12.
We would ask all members to vote before the meeting to minimise the time spent during the meeting but members who have not been able to will be able to vote at this meeting
As at our previous AGM, voting at this EGM will be mostly electronic, with paper forms also available for members.
